Dine Alone Introduces SWERVEDRIVER!

Swervedriver to release new LP I Wasn’t Born To Lose You, April 7, 2015.

We are thrilled to officially announce that we will release the 5th studio album from legendary UK band Swervedriver. The long awaited follow up to the band’s 1998 album 99th Dream.

• Swervedriver managed to stand out in the 90s London’s indie rock guitar scene by hotwiring that sound with the subversive energy of some American bands of the era, embracing the liquid distortion of shoe gaze combined with the cool swagger of Hüsker Dü, Sonic Youth, and Dinosaur Jr giving them a unique sound and attitude

• Their full-length debut, 1991’s Raise, to this day is hailed by Pitchfork as an album full of “muscular, scorching guitars” that “still bring the noise like nobody’s business” with Mojo stating that Son of Mustang Ford “remains one of the most glorious tunes to emerge in the wake of the so-called grunge explosion of ’89.”

• Swervedriver went on hiatus in 1998 and then reunited at the 2008 Coachella festival, around this time they released new music, the single “Deep Wound”. The band has just announced they’ve got a new full-length ready to go, “I Wasn’t Born To Lose You,” coming out on Dine Alone Records in Canada on April 7, 2015.

The first single “Setting Sun” is a lovely piece of blurry heaviness.” – Sterogum

A rather easygoing track, “Setting Sun”, the newest tune by Swervedriver, features the band’s familiar mix of shimmering and jagged guitars.” – Pop Matters

“Starting light and breezy, the track slowly adds in layers of heavy percussion and dissonant guitars, resulting in an intriguing dichotomy between the gleefully upbeat and the utterly morose.”Consequence Of Sound
