DINE ALONE RECORDS SIGNS MONSTER TRUCK
(October 6, 2010 – Toronto, ON) Dine Alone Records is proud to announce the addition of MONSTER TRUCK to their expanding roster in Canada. Hamilton’s favourite sons will officially release their second EP titled Brown on October 18. Pre-sale of the Brown EP begins Thursday, October 6 at this link: http://ilovemonstertruck.com/wordpress/?page_id=205.
Monster Truck was formed in 2009 by Jon Harvey (bass, lead vocals), Jeremy Widerman (guitar, vocals), Brandon Bliss (organ, vocals) and Steve Kiely (drums, vocals). What began as a side-project to their other more ‘serious’ bands quickly gained momentum and a lot of attention, and the original plan of getting wasted and playing sloppy rock grew into something new entirely. Everyone’s influences gelled in a cohesive and exciting new take on all of the classic rock that had come before them. Soon, show offers piled up as well as festival slots and the band realized that they had something that was undeniably fun and exciting on their hands.
Two EP’s have been released since the band’s inception. The first self-titled EP was recorded by Gus Van Go & Werner F (The Stills, Preistess, Hollerado) and was released independently. Eager to follow up the recording after overwhelming response to the first release, the band hit the studio and tracked “The Brown EP” with Eric Ratz (Billy Talent, Cancer Bats, Three Days Grace). The EP features a blazing track with George Pettit (Alexisonfire) and showcases the band’s ability to integrate influences from grunge and punk era greats they love so dearly, with alt-sounding classic rock.
Monster Truck takes their crushing live show on an extensive tour across Canada this Fall, including several dates with Saskatoon’s The Sheepdogs. For further dates, more details and updates, check back at: http://ilovemonstertruck.com/.
