(September 2013) – Dine Alone Records is set to release the third installment of the “Covers” EP series titled Covers, Pt. 3 from City and Colour. Featuring covers of songs by Alicia Keys and Bic Runga, the two-song EP will be available digitally on Monday, September 30. There will also be a 7″ vinyl, limited to 1000 copies: black (500) and clear (500), available to purchase at cityandcolour.com and dinealonerecords.com.
Covers, Pt 3 is the latest release from the Covers EP series which features Dallas Green’s take on some of his favourite songs. As many City and Colour fans know, Green has always had a penchant for covering some of his favourite female artists. Track 1, “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)” is originally by Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, featuring Drake. The second track, “Captured” is by New Zealand multi-instrumentalist Bic Runga.
The first of the Covers series, Covers, Pt. 1 will also be available to the general public for the first time as a cityandcolour.com Webstore Exclusive. Originally released as a limited-edition 10” vinyl and only made available as part of a special pre-sale ticket package in Canada, the US, and the UK on black, green and purple vinyl, 200 hand-numbered clear vinyl copies will be made available to fans on September 30 at 12:00pm EST.
It has been an incredible ride since the release of The Hurry and The Harm, which debuted at #1 on the Top 200 SoundScan Chart in Canada. Lead single “Thirst” also shot to #1 on the BDS Modern Rock and Mediabase Alternative charts – a first for Green. The Hurry and The Harm made serious waves internationally as well, debuting at a career high #16 in the U.S., #4 in Australia, #32 in the UK, and #83 in Germany. City and Colour has earned Platinum awards for Sometimes (2005), Bring Me Your Love (2008) and Little Hell (2011) which also attained RIAA Gold in Australia. Current single “The Lonely Life” is Top 10 at Alternative Radio in Canada. Watch the new lyric video for the track below.
