Australian trio DMA’S have released their self-titled fifth album – a carefully curated collection of songs that capture the band at their most self-assured – out now via the Wonderlick Recording Company / Sony Music Australia / RCA UK.
The new album distils years of consistently building upon their signature anthemic sound, soaring melodies and unmistakable vocals while embracing new perspectives on the band’s evolving sound.
“This record has some of my all-time favourite DMA’S songs on it,” says vocalist Tommy O’Dell from the band. “I love the way it was recorded and the processes we went through to make the album what we wanted. I’m very proud of it.”
Launching with My Baby’s Place, fans were drawn in with a reflective, nostalgic track that defiantly heralded the band’s return. In stark comparison, Heatin Park burst out of the gates with an MBV-esque lead guitar riff and gritty, distorted vocals. The follow up single Hurracane saw the band hit the #1 spot in Spotify’s Hot Hits Australia, and was followed by the fast-paced, propulsive Killing Time which, along with the first two singles, reached #1 Most Played on triple j. The emotive, stripped back Windows, which was recently released as a fan track, also features on the album, alongside new focus single Emailz, an arena-ready and infectious track that will have fans swaying arm-in-arm at future live shows.
Written and recorded between their own studio in Glebe, Sydney and Los Angeles and Nashville, and produced by the band alongside Grammy nominated producer Lach Bostock, Jimi Somewhere and Styalz Fuego, the album also includes a writing collaboration with 3% Nooky on the opening El Alamein.

DMA’S builds on the band’s incredible history that has seen them deliver four critically acclaimed albums – Hills End in 2016; For Now in 2018; THE GLOW in 2020 and How Many Dreams? in 2023 – each landing towards the upper echelons of the ARIA Top 10 chart in their homeland, with the last two albums, THE GLOW and How Many Dreams?, reaching #4 and #3 respectively in the UK album chart.
DMA’S have accrued over 500 million streams across their catalogue, four multi-platinum singles, multiple ARIA Award nominations – including a win for Best Group in 2023 – and 13 songs in triple j’s coveted Hottest 100, highlighted by their Like A Version cover of Cher’s Believe, which topped the Hottest 100 Like A Version of All Time in 2023.
