DUTCH UNCLES UNVEIL NEW SINGLE ‘DECIDED KNOWLEDGE’
TAKEN FROM NEW ALBUM O SHUDDER OUT 23RD FEBRUARY
BIGGEST HEADLINE SHOWS TO DATE CONFIRMED FOR SPRING

Manchester five piece Dutch Uncles have shared their new single, ‘Decided Knowledge’, which will be formally released 2nd March 2015. It’s taken from upcoming new album O Shudder, out 23rd February on Memphis Industries.
“The lyrics came as a reaction to failing very miserably at a job interview,” explains lead vocalist Duncan Wallis.“It was a council job at a local arts centre. I thought personal experience would account for something, but it really didn’t.
“So the melodramatic tone of the words reflect a) how very assuming I was; and, b) how very unsuitable for the job I was in the first place.”

Spring 2015 sees Dutch Uncles play their biggest headline shows to date. Having long been darlings of the music press, the nights at The Ritz, Manchester and Koko, London reflect the band’s now burgeoning popularity among fans

DUTCH UNCLES LIVE
26 March 2015 – The Sugarmill, Stoke
27 March 2015 – The Ritz, Manchester
10 April 2015 – Koko, London
24 April 2015 – Belfast, Limelight 2
25 April 2015 – Dublin, Workman’s Club

The album O Shudder is easily Dutch Uncles’ most accessible work yet. Without losing any of their esoteric tendencies, they’ve finally alchemised their idiosyncrasies into art-pop perfection. Wallis describes the themes elsewhere on the record as being “more personal and direct than before with reflections on pregnancy, school discos, divorce, health scares, sexual dysfunction and terrorism”.
O Shudder was recorded in the Welsh valleys and at their Salford studio with long-term collaborator Brendan Williams and features a cameo from Liverpool three-piece Stealing Sheep.

O Shudder is released 23rd February 2015 on Memphis Industries
