Dylan Cartlidge shares new track ‘Wishing Well’

Confirms debut headline tour

lead tour support for Bad Sounds and Darwin Deez

“Like Miguel meets the Black Keys.” NME
“Dylan Cartlidge does things his own way.” Clash Music
“Epidemically infectious.” The Line of Best Fit
“Hailing from Stoke and raised in Redcar he’s about as provincial as UK rappers come and just as talented as any MC hailing from one of the big cities” NOTION

‘Wishing Well’ is the exceptional new track (premiered by Annie Mac on Radio 1) from Northern based one-to-watch Dylan Cartlidge listen here.

Following the release of his impressive debut EP ‘Scratch, Sniff’, ‘Wishing Well’ once again showcases Dylan’s versatility as a genre-spanning singer/rapper/ multi-instrumentalist. It’s a stylistic mix that’s reflected in his unique image: timelessly cool afro; Americana-inspired Hawaiian shirts and Elvis-style cuban collars. A look and sound that feels it could have been created on the east side of Atlanta rather than in a small town near Middlesbrough. Reminiscent of Beck and Outkast but with a distinctly British slant akin to Jamie T or Gorillaz, Dylan changes from rapping to singing throughout, showcasing his versatility as a performer.

With previous singles receiving strong radio support (‘Scratch Sniff’ featured as Huw Stephen’s ‘Record Of The Week’ and Annie Mac made Dylan her coveted ‘New Name’) ‘Wishing Well’ looks set to broaden his appeal, as his catchiest track to date. Having filled his summer playing a string of festivals including Reading & Leeds, The Great Escape, Live at Leeds and Latitude Festival, Dylan has also been handpicked by both Darwin Deez and Band Sounds as lead tour support this Autumn, in addition to confirming his own headline tour this winter (tour dates below).

22- year old Dylan grew up in Stoke but at fourteen he moved to Redcar – a small, predominantly white working-class town known only for its mothballed Steel Works and race course and the location of the critically acclaimed recent BBC documentary ‘The Mighty Redcar’.
With nothing going on there, Dylan sought solace in making music, even teaching himself the bass from scratch over the past few years.

An artist well and truly in his own lane, Dylan Cartlidge is most definitely a name to watch over the coming months.
