Easy Star Records: Last chance to pre-order vinyl from Flying Vipers

OUT NOVEMBER 15, 2024

We are very excited to release our first collaboration with New England-based dub reggae collective Flying Vipers this Friday, November 15. Self-produced on a vintage cassette 4-track, “Show Me” introduces the soulful voice of Kellee Webb, whose dynamic presence brings extra depth to the Vipers’ signature, roots-inspired sound. Since establishing their distinctively analog, classic dub style in 2015, Flying Vipers have continued to sharpen their cuts, hinting at a Stax-meets-Channel One vibe. This is the first single from an upcoming full-length dropping in 2025. You can still pre-order copies on limited edition 7” vinyl (only 250 made total) while they last. Pre-orders have begun shipping already so expect your order to go right out.

Royal Blu dropped “Light My Way,” the first single off his anticipated debut full-length album earlier this summer and put the world on notice that he was a lyrical force to be reckoned with. Pairing with GRAMMY-winner Kabaka Pyramid, Blu delivered an amazing modern roots track that got playlisting and airplay around the globe. Now, he returns with a next track from that upcoming project (due in early 2025) and “Stranger Twice” continues showing Blu’s diverse lyrical styles and knack for crafting hooks. Produced by G.wav, which includes Runkus, Kalex, RiddimBoss, and Blu himself, the track has a dancehall beat and a lovers rock feel.

JonQuan drops his third single of 2024, this time partnering with reggae legend Ranking Joe and dub engineer/mixer Victor Rice. “Top Ranking” and its dub version “Darker Shade of Quan” are both dripping in old school vibes, showing that few artist-producers besides JonQuan can deliver such vintage, yet modern, reggae.
