The band embark on European dates supporting Django Django and Destroyer, dates below:
Eaux is the new creation of London based Sian Ahern, Stephen Warrington and Ben Crook. Forming in late 2011 from the ashes of cult band Sian Alice Group, the bands music is made from the building blocks of drum pads and samplers, percussive sequencers, multiple synths, electric and bass guitar, all cycling in waves beneath Ahern’s spellbinding voice.
The trio alternate between instruments, sounds and rhythmic patterns to form compositions that weave together elements of folk, 60’s bubblegum and psych, early German electronic music and British industrial & post punk, and the analogue era of Detroit techno, brought together and highlighted by Ahern’s crystalline, ethereal vocals.
‘Ahern’s crystalline vocals guide the way towards oblivion‘ – Pitchfork
‘New Peaks’ sees the musicians veering farther into minor-key dark wave territory,
with a diversity of synthetic textures and loads of protracted tension-building.’ – The Fader
‘The group’s dark-side fixations bring to mind the smoky grandeur of contemporaries like Balam Acab, Beak>, and Zola Jesus, but i never sounds bleak for the sake of being bleak’ – SPIN
Ahead of its release next week on Morning Ritual Recordings, the debut EP from London experimental electronic three piece Eaux can now be streamed in its entirety after being premiered on SPIN.
