THE CAUTIONARY TALES OF MARK OLIVER EVERETT OUT APRIL 21

“One of the most prolific, adventurous and moving songwriters of the past decade” Q Magazine

“That rarest thing in contemporary pop: a unique sound”—The New Yorker

“A consistently astounding career”—Uncut

In celebration of the release of their new album The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett on April 21, EELS will set off on a North American and European tour, kicking off in Austin on May 16 with stops in New York, Los Angeles, Paris and London’s Royal Albert Hall – please see below for list of complete dates.

The new album from singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and EELS front man Mark Oliver Everett (aka E) is being described as “an extraordinarily vivid and intimate document of a personal struggle.” NME recently premiered the new album track “Agatha Chang” – listen here.

The album is available for pre-order at http://eelstheband.com/stores.php and will be released in a deluxe 26 track 2 CD edition and a double 12 inch clear vinyl edition (with 13 bonus tracks on vinyl as well); both editions include a free download.

The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett marks the 11th full-length release for EELS, whose debut Beautiful Freak was released in 1996. In addition to the recordings, Everett has embarked on a number of non-musical projects as well including his acclaimed book Things the Grandchildren Should Know and the multiple-award winning Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives documentary film about Everett and his quantum physicist father, Hugh Everett III, broadcast on the BBC.
