Empire Of The Sun @ Brixton Academy – July 9th

Empire Of The Sun recently completed an extensive U.S. tour which will head to London next week for a headline show at Brixton Academy followed by Casino de Paris in Paris. To celebrate the decade anniversary of their debut album, Walking On A Dream, the band have played intimate venues across North America, with two-night stands in numerous cities, including Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles before they head to the UK and France.

The London date next week will mark their second ever headline show in the UK as their first came just prior to the release of 2016’s ‘Two Vines’ album (Virgin EMI) at The Roundhouse in October that year. The performance garnered much praise: “Empire Of The Sun are now genuine stars” (****), said The Independent, “by the end the stage was like a cross between Flash Gordon and Burning Man” (****), commented The Times, while the Daily Star noted “The standing ovation was well-earned”.

The tour followed the release of the limited-edition vinyl of Walking On A Dream: 10^th Anniversary Edition. This special product, available for purchase HERE, includes a gatefold, 180-gram heavyweight transparent blood orange vinyl of Walking On A Dream and a unique code to download the unreleased track “Chrysalis”, featuring the original artwork from the initial 2009 vinyl release.
