Change nothing is the upcoming release from Woking noise fiends Employed to Serve, a female fronted rock and roll five piece, and before you ask know they don’t sound like fucking Paramore. Upon pressing play on the first track I had no idea I was in for a hybrid of hardcore, mathcore and some straight up rock and roll.

Employed to Serve have a lot of heavy riffs and sickening vocal screams in their arsenal and this is what might set them apart from the crowd. Instead of creating songs that are based on choruses and hooks Employed to Serve seem to create music that is purposely out there and this could be what makes or breaks them (I hope it makes them).

Employed to Serve take influence from bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Raging Speed Horn and The Chariot whilst not sounding like a rip off of any of these acts. The Shrill female vocal helps stand the crowd out and instantly makes the band sound different from the dozens of dozens of boring hardcore bands that are currently swamping the scene.

I thoroughly enjoyed this little offering from Employed to Serve and I’m hoping the EP does them well. Stand out track on the ‘Change Nothing, Regret Everything’ has to be ‘Serve’. 7.7/10
