End Of The Road has unveiled the comedy offering for its landmark 20th edition. Presented by Chump’s Comedy, it follows the same instinct as their music programming by spotlighting boundary-pushing voices from across the stand-up circuit. From razor-sharp satire and surreal absurdism to offbeat newcomers and cult favourites, this year’s lineup brings together some of the scene’s most exciting, unpredictable and original comedians.

The Talking Heads stage has become a firm favourite for the End Of The Road audience who know they’ll be treated to a superbly curated lineup of comedy and talks as well as some intimate musical performances. Fern Brady leads this year’s comedic charge, bringing her razor-edged, no-filter style off the back of acclaimed BBC and Netflix specials, Taskmaster, Bake Off, and a best-selling book to boot. She’s joined by Desiree Burch, a transatlantic force of nature whose sharp, commanding stand-up and constant TV presence, from Have I Got News To You to Live at the Apollo, have made her one of the most compelling performers around.

Elsewhere, Paul Foot delivers his singular, surreal brilliance, a true original still operating in a lane entirely his own, while Spencer Jones pushes absurdity into beautifully unhinged territory, as seen in The Mind of Herbert Clunkerdunk, Ted Lasso and beyond. Shappi Khorsandi brings her fearless, deeply personal and sharply political comedy, cutting through with warmth and bite in equal measure. There’s the return of festival regular Stewart Lee, an era-defining figure in stand-up. Laura Smyth’s big stage presence and brilliantly grounded material mark her out as one of the most exciting voices working today.

Elsewhere, the lineup goes just as hard, spotlighting a wave of sharp, strange and seriously exciting talent. From Andy Field’s brilliantly oddball charm and Marty Gleeson’s off-kilter rise, to Alexandra Haddow’s precision writing and Dom McGovern’s chaotic, high-energy style, there’s no shortage of voices pushing things in new directions. Molly McGuinnessbrings witty chronicles of working-class life in Salford, Katie Norris delivers beautifully unpredictable brilliance, and Sunil Patel’s deadpan mastery lands every time. SNL UK comedian Jack Shep adds a fresh, fast-rising presence, while Frankie Monroe promises full-throttle chaos, a messy, anything-goes spectacle packed with surprises.
