Surging singer and producer ericdoa cuts through the noise with boisterous new single ‘lifeline’ — an instantly catchy track about being young, reckless, and living in the moment. His visceral vocal and stream-of-consciousness approach are reflected in the track’s dramatic visual, but there’s also a sense of humor and play in the release — it’s accompanied by a new video game that’s playable at ericdoa.com.

The eclectic production — swirling up dark guitar-pop and racing rhythms — amplifies ericdoa’s chaotic inner monologue as he navigates the blur of youth — “spend all my money on cigarettes and Cognac” — and yearning for someone to hold onto. “I guess halfway is the only way to meet me,” he sings in the striking opening line. “Dinner for five, but I guess everybody’s leaving.”

The accompanying video adds to the stirring emotion, with Eric lying unconscious in a hospital bed while surrounded by distraught loved ones. As he flatlines, his EKG turns into a pixelated video game, which features a digital Eric avatar running endlessly across the monitor. Altogether, the elements add new cryptic layers — both moving drama and a gleeful sense of humor — to the world Eric is building through things with wings.

‘Lifeline’ finds ericdoa exploring the uncertainty of young love, a theme present throughout his latest releases. March’s ‘fool4love’ compared missing someone to withdrawal, resonating to the tune of nearly 1 million Spotify streams. And that song was preceded by ‘sad4whattt’, which featured in the fourth episode of Euphoria’s highly acclaimed second season on HBO.

ericdoa’s 2022 singles showcase his development as a boundary-breaking artist since his Interscope Records debut ‘fantasize’, which has amassed more than 23 million global streams. But the 19-year-old isn’t even close to reaching his goal yet. He will expand his following even further on his first-ever headlining tour, Things With Wings, which begins April 15 in Houston, and comes over to the UK and EU this summer including a night at the Courtyard in London on October 7th – preorder starts 10am Wednesday 11th April HERE.
