ESCAPE THE FUTURE

NEW SINGLE: ‘SORRY MUM & DAD FOR BEING TOO PUNK ROCK

DEBUT EP – ‘BIRTHDAY SUIT’

CYBER NOMAD RECORDS – OUT NOW

LONDON SHOW – PROUD, CAMDEN – 4TH FEBRUARY 2017

Southampton punks, Escape The Future, tipped as ‘Ones to watch in 2017’ by Louder Than War and picking up airplay from John Kennedy, are set to release a new single from their debut EP on Cyber Nomad Records on the 10th of February 2017.

‘Sorry Mum & Dad For Being Too Punk Rock’ follows the recent release of eponymous lead track ‘Birthday Suit’ and is an open apology to your parents for all the trouble caused and mistakes made; “I know I cheated and I nearly died but at least I f**king tried”.

The ‘Birthday Suit’ EP was recorded near Salisbury with producer Anthony Clark and then mastered with John Davis at Metropolis Studios, features four brilliant new tracks and is a joyous and infectious statement of intent.

EP Track Listing:

01 ‘Birthday Suit’

02 ‘Drunk & Broke’

03 ‘South Coast Road’

04 ‘Sorry Mum & Dad For Being Too Punk Rock’

Barely out of their teens, the band were formed last year by singer-songwriter and guitarist Joe Wenman who was sick to death of Saturday night talent shows and the constant stream of manufactured pop served up by the mainstream. Recruiting like minded souls in the shape of Quack Corbett (Bass), Allan Varnfield (Drums) and Anthony Clark (Guitar), Escape The Future were born and have been steadily building an enthusiastic following of similarly disaffected youth at sold out local shows around the South Coast.

Influenced by the songwriting of Blink 182, Green Day, Sum 41 and Boxcar Racer and inspired by the music of Arctic Monkeys, Billy Bragg, Sex Pistols and Madness, the new four-piece mix inappropriate lyrics with heartfelt words that see them effortlessly move from deep love songs, to tongue in cheek, to songs about mental illness and politics.

Their fresh take and modern twist on punk and new wave sometimes recalls the energy of The Undertones and Buzzcocks, but they really sound like nothing else around right now and are set to launch into the new year – kicking and screaming!

Escape The Future will play the following live shows in February and April,  more dates will be announced soon.

LIVE DATES:

FEB 04TH        PROUD, CAMDEN, LONDON
