(Brooklyn, NY) Wonderfully warped and bristling with incendiary energy, the Oakland-based art-rockers Everyone Is Dirty first started shocking audiences with the raw power of their music in 2013. Having made made a name for themselves in the Bay Area with their unforgettable live shows, the band consisting of Sivan Lioncub (vocals/electric violin), Christopher Daddio (guitar/vocals), Tony Sales (drums/vocals) and Tyler English (bass) are gearing up to unleash their latest sonic vision.
Led by single “San Andreas,” Everyone Is Dirty is now sharing plans for the release of their new album, My Neon’s Dead.
The release follows a stint of adversity for Lioncub who, ironically, became deathly ill due to a penicillin allergy, and was hospitalized for several months following the release of the band’s last album, Dying Is Fun. It was during this time, when she lay in the hospital on a dilaudid drip, that she and her supportive bandmates began work on their second album, My Neon’s Dead. The morphine haze is evident in the lyrics and the vibe of My Neon’s Dead, the light, the fight, and the dreams one has when one is floating over themselves.
Looking back, Lioncub feels that their debut was a prophecy for the illness she later endured. If you want to know if she still thinks Dying Is Fun, you’ll have to ask her.
