SHARES BRAND NEW TRACK ‘DIGGING‘
PRODUCED BY STELLA MOZGOWA (OF WARPAINT) & SAM DIXON (SIA, ADELE)
TAKEN FROM DEBUT EP ‘ELECTRICAL‘
OUT 24th JULY ON ISLAND RECORDS / DEW PROCESS
Enigmatic young Australian lyricist EVES THE BEHAVIOR is excited to share a brand new track ‘Digging‘, taken from her debut EP ‘Electrical‘, out this Friday on Island Records/Dew Process. Produced by Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint and Sam Dixon (SIA, Adele), alongside Hannah herself, the track beautifully builds with its layers of instrumentation and harmonies.
“In May I decided to pull up all of my roots in Sydney and buy a ticket to go around the world alone. It has piloted some of the highest and lowest moments I’ve ever had, and obviously that ink runs into my writing. This song is a result of being robbed in LA, ending my first long term relationship and being 20 and on my own and in some very foreign landscapes.”
EVES THE BEHAVIOR is Hannah Karydas; a twenty-year old Brisbane-based singer, songwriter and producer with a unique look on the world. Few young musicians have quite the steady vision and kaleidoscopic ambition in which EVES THE BEHAVIOR sets her sights on, which is in part due to Hannah’s synesthesia; a condition which elicits an experience of mixed senses, in particular elements that trigger and become colours in her mind. This rare sense affects and influences her own music, allowing Hannah to figuratively paint her music, including the shadow and darkness from within.
As influenced by Internet-hyper-pop as she is lyrical eloquence, Hannah covers the vast musical territory that blurs the line between pop and experimentalism that has quickly won her listeners from around the world – from folk fans that are drawn to her curious voice and clever lyricism, to electronic music enthusiasts that are drawn to her textured and deftly spun samples.
EVES THE BEHAVIOR’s previous single, the beautiful and ethereal dream-pop ‘Electrical’, won her legions of fans in her native Australia and beyond. The accompanying video was directed by ARIA Award winning Josh Logue (Daniel Johns, Tkay Maidza, Hilltop Hoods), who claimed the accolade for his conceptual vision on Empire Of The Sun‘s ‘Walking On A Dream‘ clip. It’s the second installment of a trilogy of a collaboration between the artist and director.
After stunning performances at Laneway Festival alongside the likes of FKA Twigs, St. Vincent, Little Dragon and Banks earlier this year, EVES THE BEHAVIOR is set to rule the stage at Splendour In The Grass 2015.
Her self-titled debut EP, which features ‘Electrical‘, ‘TV‘, ‘TV (Warpaint – Steez Remix) and ‘Digging‘, will be released on Dew Process (Australia) and Island Records (ROW) on 24th July. ‘Electrical‘ is available now as a digital download.
