Evie Irie unveils ‘Stupid Things’ music video

Sixteen-year old Sydney-born singer/songwriter Evie Irie releases the official music video for “Stupid Things” today taken from her recently shared EP ‘5 Weeks In LA‘.

The five-song collection threads together a tale of personal emotions and evocative stories over an unpredictable sonic backdrop. She introduces the project with the undeniable opener “Bitter.” Off-kilter production punctuated by handclaps, glitchy electronics, and strains of guitar gives way to a hypnotic hook as she encourages, “Try not to get bitter.”

Hailing from just outside Sydney, Australia, Evie Irieis quietly emerging as something of an alternative soul-pop wunderkind at just 16-years-old. Grabbing a guitar, she penned fully realized pop anthems rooted in the experiences of her sisters and their friends. With her family-supporting, she moved to Nashville and attracted the attention of top songwriters and tastemakers at open mics and performances. As the title reflects, she wrote and recorded 5 Weeks In LA over a 5 week trip to Los Angeles that also landed her a record deal with Republic Records.
