Sign to !K7 Records for their Debut Album ‘Eternalism’ out July 24th
+ DEBUT LONDON SHOW
JUNE 17 THE WAITING ROOM @ STOKE NEWINGTON
Next stages in a band’s life are meant to feel like new chapters, but Evvol have pretty much opened a new book. The Berlin-based duo have reconvened, and a new vitality is sparking.
Evvol are 2 ladies of Irish and Australian origin making atmospheric darkwave and dealing in the seedy underbellies of desire and hallucinations. Previous moniker Kool Thing’s self-titled 2013 release plotted a marker in time, introducing the world to their nocturnal, textured sound. With kindred spirit Austra, they toured the EU and Australia, and also shared the stage with Grimes, Trust, Light Asylum and
Peaches. Now it’s time to push things forward.
Their debut album ‘Eternalism’ expands on that with moments of both introspection and total release. A new found positive energy radiates from the sounds on this record, with every crack between the synths, drums, vocals and guitar revealing complexities inits minimalism.
‘Eternalism’ is bookended by the two most intriguing tracks they’ve ever written, ‘I See You (I Am You)’ and ‘Four Steps From Home’, songs rooted in emotional and physical environments of place and pulse. The record is the result of artistic and personal reinvigorations, with all band members expanding their own individual creativity with solo projects since 2013.
There’s no point in repeating what has gone before, and ‘Eternalism’ is an evolution. Pushing the preconceptions of the sound they want to make has resulted in a deeply rewarding album; uncompromising, experimental and euphoric, a product of devotion to creativity, their music, and each other.
Evvol play an exclusive headline show in the capital at The Waiting Room on June 17th to launch the album, showcasing their unique brand of darkwave in an intimate Stoke Newington basement, befitting of their nocturnal vibes.
