EWERT AND THE TWO DRAGONS ANNOUNCE 2015 EUROPEAN TOUR DATES
NEW ALBUM ‘CIRCLES’
TO BE RELEASED ON FEBRUARY 24TH (SIRE/WARNER MUSIC)
On February 24th Ewert and The Two Dragons will release their long-awaited 3rd album “Circles”. In support of the new album, the band will be touring North America until mid-March. European Tour will kick off in Copenhagen on March 27th.
Ewert and The Two Dragons is about to reach yet another milestone on their exciting journey. Their 3rd studio album which was recorded in August 2013 at Bear Creek Studio,U.S. “Circles” was produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Vance Joy) and will be their first album released under Sire Records (Warner Music).
“It was definitely a special process for us,” frontman Ewert Sundja explains. “Our previous two albums were recorded within a short period of time. This time we spent over a month in a studio in the U.S. — and that was a big thing.”
“On previous albums, we had all the songs done and studio time was only recording time. This time, we had three or four songs from the beginning, but the rest of the songs were just ideas. The new album is different than the albums before, while we were recording, it seemed like everyone was having the same kind of questions and thinking about the same things and this became a concept for the album,” Sundja says. “Even though we’re barely in our thirties, the growing process is the main theme of this album. We all started understanding more about life in general, hence the album title “Circles”. Everything is turning and we’re suddenly back in the same place we’ve been before, wondering about love, life and death, right and wrong.”
During 2011 2014, hard work and numerous concerts in Estonia and abroad paid off generously. “Good Man Down” became one of the bestselling albums in Estonia and earned them a slew of awards including; Tallinn Music Week / Skype’s “Go Change The World” Award (2011); Estonian Raadio 2 Annual Hit of the Year Ceremony’s “Best New Act,” “Station’s Favorite,” and “The Hit of The Year”for their song “Good Man Down” (2011); Estonian National Television’s “Best Video” for “Good Man Down” (2011); Five Estonian Music Awards for “Best Band,” “Best Video,” “Song of the Year,” “Best Rock Album,” and “Album of The Year” (2012); and a European Border Breakers Award (2013) fromEurosonic 2013.
While they might have shelves full of awards and weeks in the studio to work on new material, they’re adamant that the music they’re making is some of the most honest and important work of their career.
“In some ways, nothing has really changed and we’re the same guys,” Sundja says. “Previously, we had the feeling that we needed to prove ourselves, but that’s not really a helpful thought. Now we’re just always trying to be better, that’s the biggest thing we’ve learned so far.”
“Circles” presentation tour will start in USA and in spring, the band will be back in Europe. Additional dates for the Baltics and Finland will be announced soon.
