British Ska outfit The Beat formed in 1978 in Birmingham and found themselves as one of the earliest and most important ska revivalist groups of the late ’70s and early ’80s. Carving our a unique sound through the use of lead vocals by guitarist Dave Wakeling.
Following the early commercial success, the original band split in 1984. Since then, Dave Wakeling has continued to record and tour, and in mid-2014, it was announced a brand new studio album titled ‘Here We Go Love’ will be released 2017, funded by fans through PledgeMusic.
