Feng drops new EP ‘Summer At Camp Lakepine’

Today, genre-mashing UK phenom Feng shares his brand new Summer At Camp Lakepine EP. Out now, the seven-song set plays like a moment away from the spotlight, finding the rising star locked in with a single friend/producer, Lakepine, while sharing unguarded bars that feel like pages from a LA diary. Over brightly fuzzy beats fit for summer nights, Feng explores the ups and downs of love, lust, friendship, and fame, while his trademark romanticism shines through it all.
Standout track ‘Coachella’ is a glittery banger set to hard bass, crystalline keyboards, and chanted vocals, the song would sound right at home blaring from a festival stage. With inimitable sweetness, Feng pens an ode to his would-be “desert Cinderella,” rapping,“Flowers everywhere, glitter in your hair / You’re so rare, you’re a unicorn affair.” But the sing-song verse is for all of us: “Yeah you came to party, it’s why I came here too / Dance all night in our dirty shoes.”
Feng announced the EP one week ago by sharing the kaleidoscopic kiss-off ‘Fake Friends’. That same night, he brought his renowned party-throwing skills to Venice Beach where he shared the last-minute location to fans who flocked to the beach for the first performance of the EP in full.
Summer At Camp Lakepine is inspired by the time Feng has spent in America, where he has helped revive the house party scene in LA – hosting Project X-style parties in California, as well as New York, Florida, and Chicago. A random online invite generator means fans and artists can get lit together, both drawn into Feng’s world as equals. A “nearly-new-years” party in Downtown LA was covered by Dazed, who said it was a “post-prom bash teleported from the late 2000s”, complete with red solos, a projection of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, MGMT and pillows with weed clip art.
The new music arrives amid several fresh milestones. After selling out the North American leg of his Weekend Rockstar Tour, Feng begins touring the EU/UK portion in September with a London headline show at Electric Brixton on September 29th. In between, he has continued his run of riotous festival appearances, springboarding off of an acclaimed Rolling Loud performance to conquer stages at Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash, Germany’s Splash!, Switzerland’s Openair Frauenfeld, and Poland’s Clout, where he commanded a massive crowd that stuck it out through a storm to party with him.
Feng also covers HIGHSNOBIETY as part of their coveted annual music week series. The feature teases Summer At Camp Lakepine, noting that the EP “continues to pull from [diverse] sources, this time using a diary-style format to capture a specific period of time he spent in Los Angeles at the start of this year.” And after making a splash during Milan Fashion Week as part of an underground invasion that swept through the flashy Gucci runway show, the 20-year-old rising star is the new face of Vans’ Off The Wall campaign — Feng spoke to HYPEBEAST about it.
Amidst such wins, ‘Fake Friends’ is even more potent. Produced by frequent collaborator Lakepine, the song mixes bright smears of synth, bursting samples, rumbling bass, and drums that pop like firecrackers to create something kaleidoscopic and driving. Within that fray, Feng delivers bittersweet sing-song bars: “They want to see you do good, but never better than them / We grew up in the same hood, we used to be best friends.”
The official ‘Fake Friends’ music video shot by Issac Buitrago in Los Angeles during the day and night is directed by Lakepine and Feng. The video – notably edited and creative-directed by Feng too – finds him wandering the city deep in his thoughts. Between technicolour shots of Feng among traffic lights and neon signs, and walking train tracks at sunset, we see the artist on a downtown rooftop surrounded by mannequins that are set ablaze. The text of a nearby billboard slyly speaks volumes:“Turn setbacks into comebacks.”
Released in February, Weekend Rockstar is equally informed by the red hot UK underground scene that Feng came up in and by alternative visions of pop that have reshaped radio around the world. With genre-melting aplomb, the colorful 13-song set channels the joyous messiness of youth, held down by the artist/producer’s mellow delivery and guiding “positive punk” energy as he navigates love, ambition, and stardom.
Weekend Rockstar was written, recorded, and mixed by Feng himself, with co-production by him and Bilal Hamdi. The LP was preceded by singles like ‘J*b’ and ‘Cali Crazy’, which capture Feng’s recent transition from nine-to-five monotony to neon-streaked weekends. He also dropped the dreamlike video for ‘Firework’, a bright song that embodies the heart of the album with lyrics like, “Don’t know what’s coming for you, but I know it’s something bright / You’re like a firework, that’s about to light.”
His own career has rapidly taken off. Feng entered the year leading The FADER’s “Artists to Watch in 2026” lineup — and is a member of their current GEN F class — while hitting similar lists by Complex, Pigeons & Planes, and Ones to Watch, who wrote, “Feng’s music bleeds personality and charisma, somehow painting a picture of a young visionary who is both painstakingly polished and effortlessly brilliant.”
