UNVEIL NEW TRACK ‘NOT GNA’
UK HEADLINE TOUR STARTS SEPTEMBER
RAT BOY SUPPORT DATES ANNOUNCED
Gobby Manchester based quartet FLESH have unveiled their brand new self-produced track ‘NOT GNA’.
‘NOT GNA’ which premiered on DIYmag.com on Friday was recorded once again in their Fallowfield home studio with a true to form zero budget video showcasing their DIY Gore mayhem and their snotty, smutty new wave of Britpop. DIY said of the track “Let the vicious love/hate debates commence – Flesh have properly arrived with ‘Not Gna” and The Line Of Best Fit added that “these four Manchester lads are living it large – and making it all sound so damn good. “
‘Not Gna’ is a mashup of lazy mid-90s bar culture grooves carrying filthy heavy metal guitar shreds in stark contrast. Flesh brought it together from gutting Seal’s ‘Bring It On’/’Crazy’ and lathering it in pig ignorance rather than soul and spirituality, or Lighthouse Family’s ‘Keep Remembering’ but trashy and defiant rather than motivational and comforting. The track is also inspired tech dread, ww1 dazzle camouflage tactics being used in everyday life to shaft and deceive, and power fast becoming more obtainable through apathy at the touch of a button or touch screen.
Self professed pioneers of ‘SnotPop’, the lads formed last year and are influenced by not only the guitar scene but also the filthy club environment. They’ve been jamming out tunes of hedonistic nightlife sleaze over breakbeats and sludge, fuelled by minimum-wage venting and an affinity for second hand sportswear.
This year alone Flesh have supporting the likes of Peace, The DMAs and appeared at festivals such as Tramlines and Dot to Dot Festival. The lads have also been confirmed to join the fellow socially observant Rat Boy on two of his headline dates this Autumn. The slots came from a raucous aftershow party Flesh hosted at their house in Fallowfield for Ratboy who performed to over 50 people in kitchen which earned a 9/10 and NME’s gig of the week in June.
Robbie, Haz, Cozza and Jon ‘s SnotPop have already attracted some serious acclaim and following a Cardiff date in August , Flesh now have an 11 date UK tour planned in September which will tie in with the drop of a brand new single and video….. so watch this space.
