Fly Anakin – (The) Forever Dream – OUT TODAY
OUT TODAY VIA Lex Records
The release is accompanied by a new two-part music video for “The Times” and the previously-unheard album cut “Corner Pocket”, directed by award-winning filmmaker Phillip Youmans (Smino, Jon Batiste, Michael Kiwanuka) and featuring Quelle Chris, BbyMutha and The Alchemist.
Combining Anakin’s decade-spanning reputation of being an incisive and masterful lyricist, with Quelle’s free-wheeling, sharp production style, the duo are polar opposites and a match made in heaven. Anakin’s writing on his second studio album continues to strike his distinctive balance of honest and personal anecdotes, with the clear and effortless humor that he’s always included in his work. Beyond Quelle, Anakin also enlisted collaborators both familiar and new on (The) Forever Dream, including Pink Siifu, BbyMutha, The Alchemist, $ilkMoney, lojii, Nickelus F, Turich Benjy, Demae, and of course, Mutant Academy brethren Big Kahuna OG and Sycho Sid.
