It’s happening again… The 6th Annual Fortuna POP! Winter Sprinter 2016 is Go!
Four nights, twelve bands, DJs… the perfect antidote to the post-Christmas blues with the creme de la creme of the Fortuna POP! roster, special guests The Leaf Library and a Blur covers band featuring members of Allo Darlin’, Tigercats, Fever Dream and Night Flowers!
2015 has been another incredible year for Fortuna POP!, with a host of critically acclaimed records by Joanna Gruesome, The Spook School, Comet Gain, Tigercats, Evans The Death, Mammoth Penguins, Simon Love, Chorusgirl, The Chemistry Experiment and Milky Wimpshake.
2016 shows no sign of letting up as the label looks to celebrate their 20th birthday (whoo-hoo!) with new albums by former Weather Prophets/The Loft main man Pete Astor, the remarkable Flowers, Steven James Adams (ex of the Broken Family Band), indie DIY heroes Martha, Dublin’s dark-hearted September Girls and a third album from Evans The Death (who knew they’d get to album No. 3??). Plus there will be a series of gigs across the globe, in places as far-flung as New York, Cardiff and Ramsgate, culminating in a massive week of London shows later in the year under the banner of Twenty Years Of Trouble. Check local press for details!
As always the annual Fortuna POP! Winter Sprinter showcases the best of the label’s talent over four days in the intimate surroundings of The Lexington, with many of the bands mentioned above involved in this unmissable curtain-raiser to the year.
