Franc Moody premiere new single, 'Losing Touch'+ New EP ‘House of FM’ due 19th May

Praise for ‘Dream In Colour’
“A stellar debut…communal, slightly chaotic and bags of fun” NME
“So irresistibly funky you’ll be struggling not to dance along” Evening Standard, 4/5
“‘Dream In Colour’ is a vivid, exhilarating experience, slice after slice of disco bedlam yet with a lyrical touch that delves a little deeper.” Clash
“London warehouse funk at its finest…a pure distillation of the group’s dancefloor-ready sound” Notion

Franc Moody have today unveiled new single, ‘Losing Touch’, their first new music since 2020’s acclaimed debut album ‘Dream In Colour’, taken from their new EP ‘House of FM’, set for release on 19th May. The unique London collective recently launched a one-off live stream, the surreal ‘Live In The Lift’ short film, which raised over £1000 for Music Venues Trust and teased further new music from the band to follow soon…

“After this totally weird year, we are very excited to share the first track off a new EP, ‘House of FM’,” write Franc Moody, when introducing their new material today. ‘Losing Touch’ came together really quickly in the studio layering up the usual concoction of all things FM (plus a few more hot sauce bottles, the result of a year of lockdown). The song tries to capture the euphoria you feel when you’re able to lose touch, to zone out, to really live in the moment, and escape from a sometimes mundane and repetitive reality. ‘Losing Touch’ feels a lot more linear than anything we’ve put out up to date. We wanted to try and create a hypnotic groove that you can lose yourself in. Enjoy. x”

‘Losing Touch’ is Franc Moody’s first new material since debut album ‘Dream In Colour’. Released just as the world went into lockdown – they managed to play a long sold-out show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire mere days before – co-signs have since followed with remixes from dance pioneers Skream, Harvey Sutherland, and a vocal fan in Nile Rodgers (with whom Franc Moody toured arenas). Whilst bottling up their incredible live show into the charity show ‘Live In The Lift’, Franc Moody have kept fans further entertained of late with their ‘Franc Zoomy’ parties, Whatsapp groups, and generally keeping close with the grassroots audience who have made them one of the UK’s most feel-good bands.

Needless to say, a life lived indoors has arguably never been one for Franc Moody. A band who came up via the tight-knit warehouse scene of London, they have earned their reputation as one of our hottest home-grown live prospects, with a run of raucous sold-out shows worldwide culminating in the release of ‘Dream In Colour’; an album which mixed influences of house, nu-disco, rave culture and the band’s guerrilla ethos into euphoric modern pop. The escapism threaded through Franc Moody takes on a whole new light in ‘Losing Touch’, and the band’s forthcoming EP, ‘House of FM’. With songs about togetherness, community, and the tension between online and offline life now manifesting itself in unprecedented manner, Franc Moody are a reminder of better days (and late nights) ahead.
