Six months since the release of his last album Deltas and playing London’s Southbank Centre, French multi-instrumentalist Chapelier Fou (aka Louis Warynski) is still busy on the road, filling concert halls with his new live band and is now pleased to announce his new EP Fuses will be released on 11th May via Ici d’ailleurs (Yann Tiersen).
The forthcoming EP will feature two previously unreleased tracks from the Deltas sessions – the sublime ‘Fuses’, an intimate voyage with psychedelic contours and ‘Les Yeux de mes Yeux’, which reveals surprisingly more minimalist facets.
There are also four remixes by artists from different horizons. Some of these names may be unknown to you – Yakie and Canada’s johnny_ripper – but were selected by Chapelier Fou himself in a contest to remix the track ‘Tea Tea Tea’ in partnership with Ableton.

The two other names will probably be more familiar, firstly Daedelus, the Californiam producer who is signed to Ninja Tune and Brainfeeder. He had already playlisted Chapelier Fou on many occasions (XLR8R, Low End Theory) and here offers a dancefloor re-reading of the intoxicating ‘La Guerre des Nombres’. Secondly the Berliners, to rococo rot unveil a subtle version of ‘Triads For Two’.
Human and artistic meetings are therefore at the very heart of this EP that helps open up Chapelier Fou’s work to entirely new territories. Fuses should be seen as a direct extension of Deltas rather than a simple collection of rare tracks and one, which brings in new faces to vary the pleasures. A companion record whose sole aim is to offer listeners a few extra moments in the highly individual atmosphere of Chapelier Fou.
