George Cosby shares new track ‘Lost On You’ + Mahogany session out now
‘Lost On You’ is another slice of soulful melancholy which captures George’s distinctive, full-bodied vocals perfectly set to simple, delicate piano and stirring strings. There is no other voice out there right now quite as captivating as his, a stop-you-in-your-tracks talent that shouldn’t be overlooked.
On the track George says, “It’s a song about your affection for someone not being returned equally, as hard as you may try or wish that it was. It stuck with me for its simplicity, with just the journey of voice, piano and strings able to tell the story I wanted to tell.”
His ambitious and richly textured sound draws directly from the cinematic canvas that occupies his mind – made up of the highs and lows of love, life and everything in between. The very same peaks and troughs that have found him dreaming-up and creating the music he is now sharing with the world. He’s travelled the globe, worked odd-jobs to make ends meet (including a brief stint in a morgue), fallen in love and had his heart broken – But his romantic spirit remains intact.
Nodding to the style and suave of Roy Orbison and the escapism of Lana Del Rey, George’s sound is timeless and individual, like it could be beamed in from the past or plucked from the future at the very same time.
