‘Is This Home (ft. Rory McKenna)’ Single

Brogan Kerrison A.K.A Glencoe, is a music producer based out of Melbourne, originally from Christchurch, New Zealand. Brogan has always been surrounded within a strong musical influence, with his Father playing with the likes of kiwi icon, Billy T James and his brother, Jason Kerrison fronting the multi-award winning NZ band Opshop. Is This Home (ft. Rory McKenna) is the latest single from Glencoe, set to be released on April 13th.

Brogan has been writing music since the age of 14, but only started releasing music under the alias Glencoe from late 2016. Since then, Glencoe has had two songs Brother (ft. Lani Alo) & Sugar (ft. Finlay Tate) playlisted on mainstream radio, and support from NZ on Air. Off the back of those songs, Glencoe has now signed with NZ based, international publisher, Songbroker, and has just started working with Australia’s leading artist development company, The A&R Department.

Is This Home was recorded in a spare room at Rory’s house (that Brogan was staying in) in January 2017, just a couple of days after Brogan had moved from NZ to Melbourne.  Brogan produced the track during the day while Rory went to play at a gig, straight after, both Brogan and Rory co-wrote Is This Home that night.

“The song basically wrote itself. That day, Rory and I were having a conversation about how, where we come from, there is a very small minded mentality. When we attended High School together in 2010, the main message was that we could be anything we wanted to be, to reach for the stars and not let anything get in the way of our dreams. Yet when it came to the question of; what do you see yourself doing as a career? When given the reply, “a full time musician” we were laughed at, told that was a fantasy, that we need to get our heads out of the clouds and find a real, secure job. But here we are, living the dream together eight years later” – Brogan Kerrison

During university Glencoe learnt how to DJ to pay his fees, playing at the local student bar every weekend. He then went on to play at some of Dunedin’s most popular clubs, opening for acts such as international recording artist Savage, whilst also becoming the Super Rugby ‘Highlanders’ Zoo DJ, playing at games with over 35,000 in attendance. Glencoe is currently working on a self-titled EP, due for release in late 2018.
