The band’s beguiling, otherworldly sound is built around the extraordinary vocal range of namesake frontwoman Grace, whose striking voice has drawn comparisons to Alanis Morisette, Jeff Buckley and Skunk Anansie’s Skin. Her skills find a worthy foil in fellow founder member Dan Beaulaurier, who boasts a soulful, technically stunning lead guitar style, which sways from gritty, grungey riffage, to dizzying Muse-esque solos, and haunting acoustic work. Drummer Maurizio Liberato and bassist Bjorn Zetterlund complete the line-up on ‘Hundred Years Apart’, for which Grace recorded the majority of her vocals live with the band, and the results achieved this way reveal both the strength of the talents at work within the group, and the cohesive chemistry between them.
Needless to say, Grace Solero are a uniquely captivating live act. It’s a one-of-a-kind artist who can say she’s performed alongside The Vibrators’ Knox (who states Grace has “a world class voice”), Slade’s Noddy Holder (her co-star in a musical production of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’) and Tristania’s Mariangela Demurtas – who describes Grace as “one of the most talented people I know”. Grace Solero have returned the compliment by inviting Mariangela to contribute backing vocals to ‘Hundred Years Apart‘s lead single ‘Electro’, the video for which can now be seen below –
