GRACEY. She’s the BRIT-nominated star-in-ascent. The architect of irresistible pop hooks that get under your skin and scale the charts to the UK Top 10, amassing more than 140 million streams. Her long-awaited new single ‘Delirium’ marked a reinvention for GRACEY, produced by PC Music alumnus EASYFUN and pop titans AFTERHRS. A left-turn which draws from the bubbling fizzing soundscape of the 80s and the sparkling modernism of hyperpop, today, she shares yet another dimension to her new sound with a remix from pop anarchist Bimini.
Bimini is a cultural force. First finding global fame as the breakout star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, they have since ignited a talent-spanning career as a musician, DJ and author. Their progressive and altogether infectious sound has earned popular and critical acclaim.
Bimini shares their vision for the remix: “This is Delirium’s older sister who parties all weekend. ‘Delirium’ is pure pop perfection, so when remixing this I wanted to get into the feeling of delirium that is slightly trippier and a bit darker and chaotic. GRACEY is such a unique talent and I’m thrilled to continue working with her. A proper sweetie.”
GRACEY says: “I’m a huge fan of Bimini’s artist and DJ project, and actually helped to co-write her latest single ‘IF YOU GET IT YOU GET IT’ with her, so I knew they would come through with a gorgeous club remix! It leans into the darker undertones of the track which I think gives ‘Delirium’ a whole new meaning. It makes me want to rage, and I adore it.”
Rising through the ranks at BRIT School where she devoted herself completely to developing her craft, GRACEY’s SoundCloud demos caught the ear of legendary hitmaker Brian Higgins, who invited her to join his famous songwriting collective Xenomania(Girls Aloud, Pet Shop Boys, Sugababes) when she was only 16 years old. Within two years, GRACEY had written her first Platinum hit: ‘By Your Side’ by Jonas Blue featuring Raye. But it was when she was at the helm of her own vision with EPs Imposter Syndrome, The Art of Closure and Fragile that there was a real landslide of intrigue. Her music has been championed by BBC Radio 1’s A-List, The Guardian, The Face, i-D, Notion, NME, Clash and The Line of Best Fit, among many more.
