Gracey shares the video for her new single, ‘Got You Covered’

Today, GRACEY releases the video for her new track ‘Got You Covered’, her first new single of 2021. ‘Got You Covered’ reunites GRACEY with the most in demand writer/producers in the country Billen Ted after their previous top 10 hit together ‘Don’t Need Love’ which was nominated for Best British Single at the BRIT Awards 2021 – scoring GRACEY’s first ever nomination. An instant earworm, ‘Got You Covered’ has received huge support at BBC Radio 1 and the tune was MistaJam’s Jam Hot Record of the Week. ‘Got You Covered’ is available to stream now via Polydor.

A truthful, emotional song about being there for a friend in need, the visual for ‘Got You Covered’ depicts the power and connection within bonds of friendship seamlessly. Directed by Salim Adam (Mura Masa, Yxng Bane, Gorgon City) the video encapsulates the intimate setting between the two kindred spirits as they support each other through hardships and then flow through a night out on the town together with friends, letting their hair down. Reflecting the sentiment behind the lyrics themselves this powerful message will undoubtedly resonate with fans after this difficult year.

Speaking about the track, GRACEY says “‘Got You Covered’ is a love song to my best mate. It’s about being there for someone no matter what, and recently she’s been battling an eating disorder alongside going through a heartbreak. It’s about having someone’s back through the highest and lowest points of life, and it’s my way of telling her she is never alone. It’s a message I think needs to be said right now; while the pandemic has made it hard to physically be together, it’s proved the importance and value of these relationships even more.

“I was also so excited to reunite with Billen Ted. They were a huge part of bringing ‘Don’t Need Love’ to life and they did the same with this song! The garage/dance influence they brought takes me right back to nights with my friendship group as 17-year-olds, and I hope it spreads some good energy as we head into the summer months.”
