Gregory Porter’s back in town! Packed summer schedule announced including performances at VE Day 70, Sunday Night At The Palladium, Nocture Live and V and Glastonbury Festival
‘Liquid Spirit’ Claptone remix dominates digital dance chart
Singer, songwriter and entertainer Gregory Porter today announced details of his packed UK summer schedule which will include a performance at VE Day 70: A party to remember, a concert taking place at London’s Horse Guards Parade on Saturday 9 May, celebrating the 70th anniversary of VE Day. Gregory will join a star-studded line up including performances from British legends Status Quo and Pixie Lot, cementing his new found position as a British national treasure. Gregory today announced he plans to perform British favourite ‘As Time Goes By’. Gregory stated, “Glad to be part of this important and grand celebration. I feel part of this great country. More clotted cream please!”
This performance follows a two-day, whistle stop UK promotional trip for Gregory last month, where he whizzed into London to record a performance for a soon to be announced appearance on ITV’s SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE PALLADIUM. He then quickly headed to Oxford to promote Nocturne Live a summer concert which takes place on 25 June 2015 at Blenheim Palace, with Gregory performing alongside music legend and a personal hero of Gregory, Van Morrison. It was recently announced that Gregory will be joining Patti Smith and Pharrell Williams at Glastonbury Festival this year, where Gregory will entertain the Somerset crowd with his mix of jazz, blues, soul and gospel. Gregory will also be performing at V Festival, joining pals Sam Smith and Paloma Faith for the festivals 20thyear. With such a strong festival presence this summer Gregory’s trademark Kangol Summer Spitfire hat will no doubt be the festival hat of choice this season.
