Hacienda Classical Returns In Summer 2019 With Manchester Camerata Orchestra With A New & Updated Soundtrack As It Moves Into Its Fourth Year
Since its very first shows in February 2016, Hacienda Classical has played more than 40 concerts in the UK and internationally with audiences well in excess of 300,000.
This year’s Summer 2019 concerts for Hacienda Classical with Manchester Camerata, the city’s experimental orchestra, see the show come to new locations as well as revisiting some of the venues where it has it made its reputation as one of the finest and most energetic of live experiences in recent years,.
Starting out in June at the largest outdoor arena in the country, Scarborough Open Air Theatre on the East Coast Saturday 8th June where 2019’s soundtrack and set will VE performed for the first time. The production then returns to headline the Isle Of Wight’s dance tent Friday 14th June joining Fatboy Slim, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Lily Allen, James, Courteeners and Richard Ashcroft among the acts already revealed for the line up.
Hacienda Classical also takes to the woods with two outdoor concerts as part of “Forest Live” the summer live music series of Forestry Commission England at Bedgebury Pinetum in Kent Saturday 15th June and Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire Sunday 16th June, both unique locations to experience the show, natural outdoor arenas set to a spectacular woodland backdrop. Proceeds from the concerts support the Forestry Commision’s work in maintaining the nation’s forests sustainably.
At the start of July, Hacienda Classical returns the scenes of some of its most legendary nights as its is back at London’s Royal Albert Hall Saturday 6th July for its fourth event at the prestigious venue, with all three previous visits having sold out well in advance. The following week sees the now annual Manchester homecoming Castlefield Bowl event, Saturday 13h July featuring Inner City live.
With a new set for 2019.curated by DJ Graeme Park, Executive Producer Peter Hook, and Musical Director Tim Crooks, Hacienda Classical will again include orchestral renditions of much loved classic club records from The Hacienda’s heritage, revisiting some of the tracks that have proved popular with fans as well as bringing new additions and arrangements of seminal tracks to the set.
Over its three years so far, Hacienda Classical concerts have brought together a mixed crowd and lively atmosphere at events which see the set played as a continuous live DJ mix where vocalists, choir, orchestra and guests all combine creating a vibrant, exciting performance.

The show has well outperformed any expectations at the outset and has seen tremendous reactions from audiences and critics many of who have awarded the show five stars, even at the very first Bridgewater Hall show, The Times gave it top marks declaring that “the atmosphere was incredible.”
Similar rave reviews followed from the first Royal Albert Hall visit as NME called it “Probably the best rave since 1997″ whilst Mixmag termed the event. “a near two hour blend of house music’s greatest players with an audience dancing and singing from the off.“
Hacienda Classical has continued to receive 5 star reviews from the like of The Independent – “It doesn’t get much better than this. A powerful, poignant performance.” – and its hometown paper, Manchester Evening News.

Hacienda Classical’s biggest single audience to date came as it opened Glastonbury’s Festival’s Pyramid Stage in June 2017 and other festival appearances including Isle Of Wight, Kendal Calling The Big Feastival, Kew The Music, Lytham Festival as well as individual concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall and Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl selling out
For audiences, these inspirational nights have recreated the tunes that defined a generation for a whole new set of fans, renewing them and rearranging them with the orchestra and artists to create a special and unique experience.
With improvement year on year, 2019’s incarnation of Hacienda Classical promises to be the very best so far.

The AMC Choir who perform at all the Haçienda Classical dates sing with a style that fuses House and Gospel music perfectly.
Matching natural, full-bodied, vocals to recreate the classic tracks which make up the Haçienda Classical set, their voices resonate with the sounds of the DJ’s and The Camerata as their harmonies and considerable energy generate the atmosphere at the concerts.
Based in Manchester, AMC have performed together since the early 90s’ across many tours and special events and choir director Audrey Mattis, says of the involvement in the tour; “Singing these famous House tunes with the knowledge that Manchester and The Haçienda was at the heart of creating the original sound is an inspirational feeling. With the cheering, and the dancing crowds, we really feel like we’re part of a historical moment. It’s uplifting to hear the crowd singing along with us from the minute they hear the intros until the very last note.”
