Halfnoise – Eponymous EP
Halfnoise will be releasing their self-titled EP on 8thOctober via Xtra Mile Recordings. This is the brainchild of former Paramour member Zac Farro who is the only permanent member of the band. He has recruited a whole host of musically talented folk to help him and the result is as far from his previous band as it is possible to get. It was produced with help from Daniel James and Jason Clark. Speaking of the recordings process Zac has said:
“This was an incredible experience for me, to not only record songs I’d been writing for years now, but to also work so closely with friends and musicians I respect and look up to.”
The songs are a surreal blend of indie overlaid with warped sound-bites and soulful vocals creating visions of haunting dreamscapes filled with twists and turns to befuddle the senses. ‘Hide Your Eyes’ has a deeper and fuller feel to it than the rest of the songs with twinkling notes like diamonds n the dark while ‘Free The House’ shimmers like sunlight over water that bellies the depth and remorseful lyrics. 7.5/10
