“They have a canny knack of drawing you into their wonderfully fuzzy world that’s hard to resist.”
Drowned In Sound
In the wake of the release of Happyness’ new album “Write In” – and as their biggest UK headline tour to date comes to a close with this week’s London show at The Dome on April 28 – the band have released a video to accompany the album’s most popular, and most surprising, single “Through Windows”.
Noticeably higher concept than previous Happyness videos, “Through Windows” – which also features an appearance from live guitarist Paul Abderrahim – sees the band step into a microwave for a rendition of the song, about which the video’s director Aaron Beckum said “We nuked the band.” He offers some further, albeit tongue in cheek, insight; “In a sense, it’s basically a documentary… the recording studio gave us unprecedented access to archive footage from the entire recording process and I just cut it together. It was fascinating to get a glimpse behind-the-scenes and see how all this new technology is changing the recording industry… it’s incredible.. even the final product, a “Compact Disc”, uses some kind of laser technology.”

With much of the UK tour having sold out, the band look toward their biggest London headline show so far, before heading off once again to tour Europe and the US.
