Hastings Post-Punk & Indie-Pop Quartet Paris Blue Return With New Single ‘Honestly’
PARIS BLUE
‘HONESTLY’
Released Feb 2nd
Hastings post-punk-indie quartet Paris Blue return with the infectious new single ‘Honestly’ (Feb 2nd).
Produced by acclaimed engineer Kevin Van Bergen (Depeche Mode, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds), the new single once again showcases the band’s ability to craft infectiously catchy melodies surrounded by intelligent musicality. A tight soundscape of angular guitars, dappled electronics, choppy drums and warm bass creates a soundscape that captures both an intricate post-punk aesthetic whilst retaining an infectious indie-come-alt-pop vibrancy. Topped with the melancholic, reflective lead vocal track, the track is given a melodic central pin.
Talking about the single the band explain: “Honestly is an alt-pop track to it’s core, a cluster of hooks with a vibe. Simple, fun and effective!
The song.. isn’t to be taken too seriously. It’s about being open. With our thoughts, feelings and relationships with others. A sentiment a lot of us can connect with in modern dating.”
Compared to bands including The Talking Heads and Bloc Party, Paris Blue have already started to turn heads. Having opened for local breakouts Kid Kapichi and more recently, The Enemy at the De La Warr the band have established themselves as a must see live band. With heavy support from BBC Introducing (multiple plays and a live session), the band have already hit significant milestones despite only having released 3 singles to date.
