HAWK EYES GET VISUAL WITH ‘YOU DESERVE A MEDAL’
NEW SPRINGTIME LIVE DATES ANNOUNCED TOO!
Leeds-based rock believers HAWK EYES are poised to launch yet another visual extravaganza from their heroically acclaimed ‘Ideas’ album. The track is ‘You Deserve A Medal’ and the video is a suitably frenetic cut’n’pissed blitzkrieg of damaged guitars and demented visuals.
Away from the bloodied cutting room floor the Hawk Eyes boys are currently recording a new EP which is due to be released in the spring, and in the spring they are due to record a new album for release later in 2013. Oh, and in between those sessions they will be popping out to set a bomb off up the butts off these events here:
March 1st – LEEDS British Wildlife Festival
March 23rd – BIRMINGHAM Jagermeister Tour
March 31st – SHEFFIELD Detestival
April 2nd – LEEDS Brudenell Music Video Festival
May 2nd – LIVERPOOL Sound City
May 18th – GLASGOW Stag & Dagger Festival
The ‘Ideas’ album came out in March 2012 to a tsunami of applause from a media which relished its blend of ravaged hardcore riffs and epic monstersound melody. Proving that this is the record which keeps on giving, ‘You Deserve A Medal’ joins ‘Kiss This’, ‘Skyspinners’, ‘Headstrung’ and ‘Witch Hunt’ as tracks from the record which have already been illuminated by half-crazed cinematic episodes and which can be found in your nearest youtube store or indeed www.hawkeyesmusic.com
The springtime dates are the band’s first since they ended a remarkable 2012 by touring with Therapy?, a year which combined the razzle dazzle of rock showbiz with the true grit of the road: there was a mini-tour with the larger-than-life Andrew WK; recording sessions with Ginger Wildheart for the Metallica covers covermount album; a nomination for Best New Band at the Kerrang! awards; a whirlwind of festival appearances from Download to Y Not; and vigorous headline slots on the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds Festivals.
HAWK EYES still consist of Paul Astick (vocals / guitar), Rob Stephens (guitar), Ryan Clark (bass) and Steve Wilson (drums). As Kerrang! would have it, “If they aren’t on your radar yet, your radar is rubbish.” Quite.
