Heart of a Coward – ‘Hope and Hindrance’ album review
Too many bands on the current scene have the hair cuts, the stretched ears, the vivid tattoos and the designer threads but not the musical talent. Luckily enough Heart of a Coward are an exception to the rule.
Their most recent offering Hope and Hindrance will be available as of the end of May and promises to be of epic proportion. The album contains ten songs that are bound to be as intense on the live circuit as they are through my headphones.
Heart of a Coward are currently riding high on the genre set by bands such as Emmure but make it their own with the grooves and acoustic openings that are spread through out these tracks. Along with a haunting clean vocal that accompanies the heavy handed screams that are unleashed on every track.
If you are a fan of the current metal/hardcore scene that is taking over the British underground scene then Heart of a Coward are band to watch out for. Stand out tracks include the uplifting “Shade” and the more down beat “And Only Time Will Tell”. Keep your eyes peeled for these five gents from Milton Keynes hitting your city very soon. 8/10
