AT HOXTON BAR & KITCHEN – AUGUST 14TH 2014 (STAGE TIME 2030 HRS)
NEW SINGLE – ‘NO CEREMONY’ – AUGUST 18TH 2014
Hero Fisher will play a London show at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen on Thursday the 14th of August (stage time 2030hrs) to coincide with the release of her new single ‘No Ceremony’ on the 18th of August 2014
Hero and her four – piece band played their first ever gig together supporting The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park last year. She released her debut single, ‘Fear Not Victorious’, in September 2013’and was recently shortlisted for the Glastonbury ‘Emerging Talent’ competition. Although she didn’t win, she was immediately offered a slot at the festival regardless.
Raised in a creative family, Fisher has been writing songs since she was 18 and generates an artistic dignity incomparable with any other singer of her generation – male or female. In search of meaningful comparisons, you’d have to go back to early-’90s musicians such as Jeff Buckley, with his turbulent, passion-warped song structures, or Polly Harvey, who joins Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave amongst Fisher’s few outright heroes.
Hero recorded a special cover of Neil Young’s ‘Don’t Let It Bring You Down’ to coincide with her recent appearance with the legendary singer at Hyde Park.
