May, 1996:
As dance culture expands, mutates, and bubbles just beneath the surface of American
popular culture, the Midwest retains its preeminence as the center of the revolution. While
rock and roll crumbles, thousands of young Americans have found salvation, enlightenment,
and the future of creativity in the electronic rhythm of techno. The rest of the country is
waiting for something – anything – to happen….in the meantime, the Midwest’s guerrilla party
underground is gathering strength and speed. And it all comes together at Even Furthur,
an annual techno camp out and electric festival in Somewhere, Wisconsin.
August, 2016:
Even Furthur, the original electric festival and techno campout that changed the course
of music history, returns from hiatus on August 19-22, 2016 to Somewhere, Wisconsin as the
hardcore party crew Drop Bass Network emerges from the underground for a family re*union
and victory party of epic proportions. EVEN FURTHUR leaps back to the future by going
back to basics: tickets are $80.00 and include admission for all four days, camping, and
parking. (Limited “old school” (ages 35+) discount tickets are sold out!)
Twenty years after first introducing Daft Punk to America, Drop Bass Network once again
teams up with Communique & David J. Prince to present an incredible lineup of DJs and
live PAs representing the best of the underground — past, present and future — under a
single tent all night long. Headliners include Brooklyn techno legends Frankie Bones and
Lenny Dee; DJ Rap, Reid Speed and Shortee (aka the Bad Ass Women of Bass); DFA
favorite and Beats in Space host Tim Sweeney; Midwest heroes DJ ESP, Hyperactive, Gein,
and Miles Maeda; a live performance by Terence Fixmer and Nitzer Ebb’s Douglas
McCarthy; plus many, many others playing from dusk until dawn each night. In addition, ten
DIY sound systems representing party crews from across the Midwest will dot the
campgrounds, with more than 240 DJs playing hardcore, jungle, techno, house and the full
spectrum of electronic sounds each day.
In true o.g. rave style, the exact location of EVEN FURTHUR remains under wraps until the
party starts, with the Wisconsin venue less than 5 hours drive from Milwaukee, Madison and
Minneapolis. Advance tickets and event details can be found at dropbass.net.
