Philadelphia’s Hop Along have been making waves since the release of their sophomore album Painted Shut earlier this year on Saddle Creek. The album debuted at #7 on Alternative New Artist Albums, #10 on Top New Artist Album Chart and took the band on a string of sold out shows, sharing the stage with the likes of Modest Mouse, The War On Drugs, and many more. Today, Hop Along announce a series of national headlining 2016 dates alongside their upcoming tour with Dr. Dog. Frontwoman Frances Quinlan will also play a series of solo dates with Barry Johnson (Joyce Manor) at the top of the new year.

Painted Shut sees Hop Along featured as a staple on the year-end “Best of 2015” lists with Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, MTV, VICE’s Noisey, A.V. Club, Stereogum, Paste Magazine, and more. Captivating stories of desperation and weary awakening are highlighted  by fuzzed out grunge guitar riffs and Quinlan’s trademark howl. Revered for their electrifying live show, be sure to catch Hop Along in a city near you!

“Frances Quinlan’s voice would kill us even if the perfectly rendered lyrics, which detail the power dynamics at play in a mortifying chance encounter, didn’t do the job.”

“Hop Along know how to make these tiny moments feel huge.”

Rolling Stone, 4-stars

“…blends folk-style story-songs with emotive vocals, jangly guitars and driving beats”

USA Today

“Painted Shut is honest and fierce, a messy masterpiece helmed by a totally singular voice.”

Alternative Press

“It’s an album full of stealth and obsessive desires for an intense connection…”

“Years from now, this will be the band we will tell a younger generation about, bragging that we saw the mighty Hop Along, and that we remember Frances Quinlan’s voice, and how it knocked us to our fucking knees”.

VICE’s Noisey

Painted Shut is a prickly, unfettered masterpiece.”

“ …the tones here are bright and pristine—but the subject matter is far from it.”
