Today, in conjunction ‘Versions of Modern Performance’ being announced as one of Rough Trade’s Top 20 Albums of the Year, the Chicago-based trio release ‘Rough Trade Super-Disc’, a collection of demoes and outtakes from taken from early rehearsals and recorded entirely via phone voice memos. Rough, ready and unadorned, the demos provide a captivating fly-on-the-wall vantage point to the band’s music making process. The tracklist includes an early version of “World Of Pots And Pans” with the band members swapping their respective instruments (“Emma Swapped Instruments”), an 8-minute choral keyboard improv (“Philip Glass”), a feedback-drenched performance of “Anti-glory” (“Anti-glory = Early Demo”), a guitar rendition of Kraftwerk’s “Computer Love”, and a previously unheard acoustic song called “This Is A Song About My Ex (2018)”.
