“RELEASE THE HOUNDS”
A Call to Action Against the DAPL
Video Featuring CHRIS ROCK, ROSARIO DAWSON, REGINA KING + More
Due to recent executive order fuckery, it is now more important than ever to stand our ground, for our ground. Despite overwhelming opposition, the Dakota Access Pipeline and the Keystone Access Pipeline are in the works, and globalista artist Jarina De Marco is refusing to back down. The artist wrote “Release the Hounds” in solidarity for the Sioux people and has rallied friends to create a moving song and visual piece to help raise awareness for this worthy cause.
Explains De Marco, “Though the Obama Administration had a victory with DAPL last year, what we feared with DAPL and the Keystone Access Pipeline has come true with the current Administration. The disregard of Native Americans and our environment is FRIGHTFUL. More than ever, we need to get the message across that we will not back down. ‘Release The Hounds’ is a call to action, and a statement of resilience, inspired by those still fighting at Standing Rock.”
Besides De Marco herself, the video includes Chris Rock, Rosario Dawson, Laura Gomez (OITNB), Michael Raymond-James (True Blood), Esthero, Cree Summer (A Different World), Jeff Parise (General Hospital), Jackie Cruz (OITNB), Casey Harris ( X Embasador), Nate Donmoyer (Passion Pit), Curly Vasquez ( Buzzfeed, Pero Like), and Trevant Hardson (Pharcyde).
All funds and proceeds from the song and video will go to Stand With Standing Rock to help lower the cost of legal fees, supplies, and anything else the Water Protectors need to continue the fight.

MORE ABOUT JARINA DE MARCO:
Jarina De Marco was born in the Dominican Republic and spent the early years of her life traveling Latin America with her parents. The Dominican/Brazilian family performed as part of the world music scene and spent extended periods of time in remote parts of the Amazonian rainforest and Dominican countryside cataloguing indigenous sounds and rhythms as musicologists. When Jarina became old enough to speak, she began singing and performing with her family as they traveled throughout the world.
These sounds surrounding Jarina during her childhood served as her early music education and travel with her to this day. Jarina sings and speaks in four different languages, often incorporating traditional sonic pallets with modern beat makers. Jarina is creating a sound, all her own, and being recognized for her unique sound, Jarina has collaborated with the likes of GTA, Mark Ronson, and Major Lazer. Support for Jarina’s last single “Tigre” included Pitchfork, Fader and Broad City among others.
