“a kick to the gut… sneery… imposing power-crunch guitars” – Spin Magazine

How can you not adore Hobart W Fink?” – L.A. Record

(Los Angeles, CA) – November 17, 2015

The MuseBox today announced the PureVolume premiere of“Boyfriend,” the new video from flippant, disaffected grunge rockersHobart W Fink. Recorded by Chris Kasych (Wavves, Vampire Weekend), “Boyfriend” is the first track from Hobart W Fink’s The Post Hummus EP, out now. Called “raw and sophisticated” by Moxipop, Hobart W Fink’s 2014 album Back and Forth Forever debuted onKROQ’s Rodney on the Roq and KCSN’s Buzzbands L.A. It is charting at Top 10 on BOTH FMQB charts. Hobart W Fink’s songs have been featured in SyFy cult hits Sharknado 2 and Three Headed Shark Attack.

“Boyfriend” features Desperate Housewives star Rachel Fox on guest vocals. The video for “Boyfriend” follows a perpetually smooching couple as their jilted exes watch and wail from the sidelines.“Boyfriend” is the lead single of a cassette EP released in a collaboration between Burger Records imprint Wiener Records and L.A. indie label All Scene Eye.

With powerful vocal harmonies merging with an eclectic grunge rock soup, lead singer/guitarist Jayk Gallagher blends elements of X, Sonic Youth, and Queens of The Stone Age with such disparate influences as Elliott Smith, Nirvana, and Ben Gibbard:

“Gallagher and [former] co-lead singer Lauren Lakis trade off vocals and harmonize in some of rock’s finest traditions (X, Sonic Youth, and the Pixies). That they set their makeup/breakup to tasty indie/punk/’90s alternative licks makes the audio voyeurism even better.” (Buzzbands L.A.)

Hobart W Fink have headlined The House of Blues, The Roxy, and The Viper Room, and have performed at The Echo, The Satellite, and The Bootleg. Fueled by rave reviews in CMJ, Buzzbands L.A., and The Deli Magazine, the band has also performed at a number of festivals, including Echo Park Rising, Venice Music Crawl, and SXSW. Hobart W Fink’s songs have been played on over 100 radio stations across the country, including alternative rock icon KROQ. More information on Hobart W Fink is available on the band’s official website.
