Introducing: Sabyna with new single ‘Angry Girl’

Today sees London-based alt-pop star Sabyna join the Toast Press roster, alongside the release of anthemic new single ‘Angry Girl’, out now via AWAL.

Built around her signature raw and unguarded vocals, the track traces the emotional turmoil of letting someone in while your world is in collapse. Turning that wreckage into something hopeful and luminous, the single arrives as a battle cry and a love letter – the sound of someone learning to let love in once they’ve accepted that they’ve been broken.

Speaking on the single, Sabyna shares: “i feel it is such a real representation of how the world feels when your crashing down, you enter survival mode and then by chance you meet someone who takes the weight of your shoulder, i really wanted to embody that feeling into a song. Angry girl is about accepting the world has hurt you and you have crashed down but also acknowledging that somewhere along the lines love came along and reshaped your hurt.”

‘Angry Girl’ follows a confident run of singles from Sabya, including debut ‘Passenger Seat’, follow up ‘The One Before’ which landed at #15 on the Spotify UK Viral Chat and spent 30 days on the Pop List, and most recent ‘Permission To Talk’. Each release has marked the clear progression of a generational talent finding her voice in real time.

Raised between London and Hertfordshire in a traditional Romanian household, Sabyna channels lived experience into emotionally direct alt-pop and R&B. Inspired by the vulnerability of artists such as RAYE and Lana Del Rey, her songwriting explores relationships, identity, grief, love and self-discovery with striking honesty and nuance.

After first posting covers online at 15, Sabyna quickly built a dedicated audience through her distinctive voice and unfiltered storytelling.
