Introducing The Able Bodies

By Ben Stephanus

Indie Pop duo The Able Bodies have hit it out the park with 3 seriously infectious singles in recent months.

Their first release “Flicker” is a disco fusion party that combines Aja era Steely Dan’s harmonic sensibilities with the posture of a recent Bruno Mars release.  The chorus is irresistible, the vibe is palpable and there’s electric bass work that couldn’t possibly be improved on.  There’s also a totally insane video that’s easy to find on YouTube.

For further listening, check out “Pet Store” where at your local Petco there’s something funky goin’ on and it ain’t just the drum track.  They’ve also tried their hand in psych with their most recent single “Ordinary Life” which contains a power pop hook that would give The Killers a run for there money, all while maintaining a steady foot in laid back Tame Impala area.

If this stuff doesn’t make you wanna dance you’re probably dead inside.  Might wanna get that checked out.
