The Academic confirm biggest UK headline shows in London and Manchester and announce a European Tour with The Kooks this November…
“killer hooks once in your brain, will probably refuse to leave” – DIY
“A determined, anthemic indie-rock track with strong nods to The Strokes” – The Independent
“Irish band The Academic don’t write songs – they write anthems” – Clash
“The Academic show an anthemic wisdom well beyond their years” – Uproxx
After spending the majority of this year making waves in the US, Irish indie rockers The Academic return to the UK this November for their biggest UK headline shows to date at Dingwalls, London (8th Nov) and Sound Control, Manchester (7th Nov) before heading out on a European tour supporting indie titans The Kooks.
Having recently wrapped up the recording of their debut album at Abbey Road Studios, it has certainly been a meteoric rise for the young four-piece since releasing their debut EP Loose Friends just under 2 years ago.
The band, who received a Choice Music Prize nomination in 2015 in Ireland for their debut single Different, quickly followed that up with sold-out headline shows across Ireland, the UK and Europe as well as much talked about performances at a number of international festivals.
With over 7 million streams already across all platforms, The Academic have just released their brand new single Bear Claws which is currently been championed at BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart and throughout the online community.
