Announce further UK March tour dates
New album Every Now & Then out now
(Marathon Artists / Mom + Pop / Future Classic)
+ Headline show @ Electric Ballroom – October 26th SOLD OUT
“this stunning record encapsulates the band at their most entrancing and anthemic – a wig out of oscillating acid bassline, ricocheting dub-fused guitars and heady pop psychedelia bathed in strobe-lit sonics” (thank you Rough Trade, happy 40th Birthday!)
“…a bad trip spent looking at a washing machine…weirdly brilliant” – NME ****
“…Jagwar Ma’s latest could soundtrack the trippiest party of you life.” – The Line Of Best Fit
“Every Now & Then is the best kind of second album, one that improves on the first one without throwing away any of the elements that made it good” – All Music ***
“best suited to loose feet and an even more fluid sense of consciousness” – DIY ****
With the release of their much anticipated second album Every Now & Then today on Marathon Artists, Jagwar Ma have announced further headline UK tour dates for March 2017, joining their biggest headline show to date on March 15th at the Kentish Town Forum.
First up however is their headline, sold out show at Electric Ballroom on October 26th, which follows a run of worldwide festival and headline tour dates this year (including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza Berlin, FYF Los Angeles and Splendour in the Grass back home in Australia), which have cemented the bands reputation as essential tent-filling favorites.
Since the release of 2013’s ‘Howlin’ Jagwar Ma have played sold out shows across the world and supported the likes of Tame Impala, The xx and Foals, filling festival tents and clubs alike with their explosive, hypnotic live performances, not to mention legendary DJ sets – most recently illustrated through their televised Park Stage performance at Glastonbury, and a raucous closing DJ set at the Crows Nest the same weekend.
On Every Now & Then, the song-writing duo of multi-instrumentalist and producer Jono Ma and singer and guitarist Gabriel Winterfield return to the melody soaked nods to club culture and instantaneous vocal hooks they’ve become well known for, but has also seen them employ their passion for the Beastie Boys, citing this eclectic album as their ‘Paul’s Boutique’. It was self-produced and recorded in the United Kingdom, Australia and France, then tweaked and mixed with the assistance of some of their brightest contemporaries, James Ford (Florence and The Machine, Arctic Monkeys), Blue May (Kwes, Kindness), Ewan Pearson (LCD Soundsystem, Chemical Brothers) and David Wrench (Caribou, FKA Twigs, Glass Animals).
Every Now & Then is out now on Marathon Artists in UK/Europe (Mom + Pop in USA and Future Classic in Australia/New Zealand)
