JAWS Watch: ‘Stay In’ Video

New Double A-side Single Released December 3rd on Rattlepop

Following on from the announcement of their new single with the lushly kaleidoscopic ‘Surround You’, young Birmingham purveyors of hazy, intelligent slacker pop JAWS are now pleased to unveil the video for single b-side ‘Stay In‘ that premiered today on Noisey.

JAWS are a young four piece hailing from the currently buzzing Birmingham music scene. Comprised of Connor on vocals/keyboard/guitar, Eddy on drums, Jake on bass and Alex on guitar, the band met while studying at Halesowen College and are aged 16 to 18.

Forming in February 2012, the band quickly drew attention with demo track ‘Cameron’ that led to a sold out self-released demo CD, followed by a debut 7” single ‘Toucan Surf’ that piqued the interest of national press including The Guardian, NME and The Fly. Live they have become an auspicious prospect, playing sizeable venues in Birmingham and London alongside fellow rising Brummies Peace and Swim Deep among others where they found eager fans awaiting to hear already familiar tunes.

With an elusive DNA of influences stretching from UK post-punk and new wave godfathers such as New Order and The Cure to West Coast slacker-rock of the grunge era and hazy textures of the Cocteau Twins, their sound charts that blurred and ever-ecstatic hinterland being populated by a new generation of inventive UK guitar bands, unified by a sense of the visceral and carefree.
