Jazzateers release their first single in thirty years through the Creeping Bent Organisation. ‘Heartbeat’ is released on the 6th of May 2013 and will be followed by a redux / deluxe vinyl package reissue of their debut album ‘ROUGH 46’ later in the year.

Signed by the legendary Postcard Records, and managed by the label boss Alan Horne, the Jazzateers debut LP ‘Rough 46’ was released back in 1983 on the Rough Trade label. The album was critically acclaimed but never performed live. The band dispersed , perversely just as media interest was at its most fervid.
However, the Jazzateers will be reforming for one night only on Thursday 27th June at Stereo, Glasgow. One of the band’s main inspirations, Vic Godard will open the evening as special guest, performing with members from former Postcard label-mates the Independent Group (James Kirk, Mick Slaven, Campbell Owens,Andy Alston), playing a set of jazz standards plus a few surprises.
